 29/10/2020:

1. Summary.

We saw the last presentation of assessment and we debate about if it’s better to see the presentations in a direct way or in a record way. Then, we started to talk about the curriculum of primary that we have to follow as a teacher.

2. What I’ve learnt.

As a teacher, we have to follow the curriculum to prepare all classes, but the majority of us could think that it’s boring and it takes a lot of time. In this way, we spoke about this document and how if you don’t follow these instructions you haven’t got any problem, so there are too many teachers that do what they want without be professionals because they believe that it’s no important not to follow a plan. The result is that I’ve learnt the importance of having steps to follow to create a session with a base and organize the lesson around it.

3. Opinion.

The first part of the class was a debate about the advantages and disadvantages of having a direct presentation or a presentation like a film. On one hand, I think that it’s better to do the presentation in a film way to lose the nerves, but it’s take a lot of time in creating the presentation, record and edit it. But in other hand, having the presentation in class could keep the attention better and could improve the participation through interaction. The other matter that we worked is the curriculum. Before the class, I thought that this document was enough extensive and boring, but now I’ve changed my point of view about it and I think that we need the curriculum like a base to be professional teachers.

1. Summary.

We saw the different presentations of assessment examples, and we participated in them to represent how it could be in a real class with students.

2. What I’ve learnt.

I’ve learnt the importance of having a determinate assessment prepared before the class to know what we want to get. With my presentation, I also understand that we have to motivate students with good comments to improve their learning. Finally, let's me say that having examples is a basic tool in teaching.

3. Opinion.

In my opinion, we have to have examples about our work to do this in the best version, so it’s important to see different presentations about skills, activities and assessment. It’s difficult to put yourself in front of all of the class and do the presentation, but I think that it’s a good way to lose our insecurity and to work with partner like a supporting group.

 22/10/2020:

1. Summary.

We started reviewing the information of the last day. Then, we used the resource of “Kahoot” to look back at what has been achieved. The teacher explained us the importance of the planning based on standards of assessment criteria to be objective with the assessment. Finally, we answered another “Kahoot” to check the knowledge.

2. What I’ve learnt.

I’ve learnt that the collaborative work is really important in education. We have to work with other teachers, so we have to write the rules together and to using the same methodology to help students to get a good learning. Now, teachers don’t apply this, each subject has a separate evaluation. In other way, you have to structure the evaluation according to standards of assessment criteria, but you can choose what standards you want to use. It’s a form to recognize the effort of students being objective. Also, it’s a form to structure the contents into levels.

3. Opinion.

From my point of view, future teachers have to be the change in education, we have to establish a global assessment through competences that connects everything, because in real life knowledge isn’t in separate ways. In this line, it’s important having a variety lists of tools to give individual attention to each student, so it could include checking the homework of class every day, self-evaluation or co-evaluation; but the last one implies having confidence in learners and give them the opportunity to have responsibilities.

 21/10/2020:

1. Summary.

We saw the benefits of assessment with young learners to check their progress, and what tools we could use with them. Then, we went over different tools to take into account when we’re evaluating someone. Finally, we’ve learnt a new resource to create rubrics in education.

2. What I’ve learnt.

As a teacher, there are a lot of documents to prepare when you are in a class, like the process of evaluation, assessment criteria, rubrics, tasks…; I’ve learnt that nowadays there are a lot of resources to save on time. In this way, we could choose our goals and the program gives you the rubric, so you don’t have to create a scale or the criteria for each level.

3. Opinion.

In my opinion, it's important to adapt yourself to new resources that appear. I mean, we have to renovate the methodology and if we have access to ICT resources we have to use them, because it makes the work as teacher easier, and it’s a form to save on time and spend it on giving individual attention to the students.

 15/10/2020:

1. Summary.

We observed the differences between the old methodology of assessment and the new, and how a bad review or a good comment could influence us to take decisions about our preferences. Then, we shared our experiences about evaluation and how it influenced our vision about the process of learning.

2. What I’ve learnt.

I’ve learnt that teachers have a big influence on learners. For example, with a bad review as a teacher, you could get the student not to like reading, or in opposite with a good comment you could get the learner to like painting and in a future could be an artist, so it’s really important to think before speaking, because your words could have a bad impact on other persons.

3. Opinion.

A teacher has a really hard work, he has children to teach and every comment could affect them in a positive or in a negative way, so he has to be a sensitive person. In my opinion, the evaluation will be always positive, you can correct a person without losing your patience and using constructive comments to motivate him.

 14/10/2020:

1. Summary.

We started a debate about the existence of the perfect teacher and how we can be like him. Most students shared their experience about good or bad teachers and how they influenced their decisions of studies.

2. What I’ve learnt.

I’ve learnt that the perfect teacher doesn’t exist, but we can raise the bar and try to be like our perfect view of our profession. In this way, there are a lot of persons that work as teachers, but don’t have the vocation, so they work without motivation and they could influence learners in a bad way.

3. Opinion.

From my point of view, it’s important to know what you want to do, because you have to be satisfied with your work to motivate other persons and to do it in the best form that you can do it. Teaching is a work where you have a lot of minds and dreams in your hands, and you have to decide if you want to stop it or if you want to participate in his learning process by supporting him.

 08/10/2020:

1. Summary.

We completed different types of questionnaires about the degree and about our point of view about the evaluation. Then, we spoke about the difficult situation of quarantine that caused that a lot of students could pass the course without basic knowledge.

2. What I’ve learnt.

I’ve learnt that the evaluation has to have different forms because if you are in a special situation like quarantine, you can’t use the traditional assessment because it’s not effective. You can use the method which you want, but it’s important to be prepared to change the way of your teaching if it’s necessary.

3. Opinion.

I think that the quarantine could be a turning point to change the organization of teaching. It was a special situation when we had to improvise the way of education, but now we have this experience, so we would have to have different plans to teach without taking into account the situation. In the same line, we have the evaluation. The majority of learners, who should have failed the course, passed because of the traditional form of education, so now it’s a problem to follow the rate of the class. We have to change the assessment to adapt it to the new situation; we could include forms of evaluation like continuous assessment, evaluation through tasks, participation…

07/10/2020:

 07/10/2020:

1. Summary.

We completed different types of questionnaires about the degree and about our knowledge of the curriculum of primary. Then, we put in common our answers and started a debate while we reflected about the most difficult question to respond and the least difficult question.

2. What I’ve learnt.

I’ve learnt how to organize my methodology related with the results that I want to get. In my case, I think that the most important thing to get is the integrated values and skills, so my class is going to be directed on the process of learning taking into account the opinion of learners to give them individual attention.

3. Opinion.

In my case, I’ve never reflected about the expectation that teachers could have in me, so it’s really hard to consider it for me. I think that all of us have to take a moment to reflect about the changes that we will want to get with our work as teachers, and how we will influence the children.

01/10/2020:

 01/10/2020:

1. Summary.

We had the presentation of the subject and what contents it includes, and we started to talk about the process of evaluation. We discuss about the disadvantages of the traditional method of evaluation that we could see during the quarantine.

2. What I’ve learnt.

We learnt that we have to have different plans to prepare the evaluation, because if we only use the traditional method, we could find a situation where it’s not effective like the exceptional condition of quarantine. We’ve also learnt the importance of silent in class and how we can use it to keep the attention of students.

3. Opinion.

In my opinion, a good teacher is the person who can adapt his methodology without taking into account the situation, so I think that it’s important to have plans and other forms of organizing to teach. In this way, I think that learn the advantages and disadvantages of different methodology is really useful for our future as teachers.
