1.  Summary.

We saw the last presentation about the topic “Teaching young learners” (with an explanation about how we could introduce a foreign language in young learners). Then, we talk about the deadline of the task and the day of the exam. Finally, we saw how we have to organize the syllabus.

2.  What I’ve learnt.

I’ve learnt how we could organize the syllabus and why it’s relevant when we create a session. The syllabus is the plan that we create to prepare the class, so we have to know what the organization is and establish our own contents, methodology and activities around it. In this way, I’ve understood that the main function of the syllabus is to be the base of our planning, if there are some problems, it could be the support of our sessions.

3.  Opinion.

We have had the farewell and I want to reflect about the importance of contact in education. In other words, as students, we need to know about the teacher and interests or attitudes, because it’s a form to improve the process of teaching-learning. In this way, the mask could act as a screen between learners and teachers, so it’s important to have a receptive personality to solve this obstacle.

1.  Summary.

We saw the presentations about the different topics, in this case we saw and participated in “Speaking more freely” (with a toy to contextualize the activities), “Reading and Telling stories” (with a story about Christmas and a dice) and “Story activities” (with representations of stories). After each one, we evaluated them and assigned numerical marks.

2.  What I’ve learnt.

I’ve learnt the possible activities that we could create in order to teach different skills like speaking or reading. We’ve worked with resources like a toy, a ball, a dice and other original things, in order to offer an active learning through gamification. This methodology could be used to create a peaceful atmosphere to share knowledge and develop skills.

Finally, we’ve seen that we could adapt different topics for the same contents, so as a result we will promote the motivation of students.

3.  Opinion.

Teachers have the responsibility of teaching all students through keeping their attention, so they have to renovate their resources. In this way, we could use a toy or a dummy as audience to contextualize the activities, for instance to show them the progress of students. At the moment, we are living a pandemic, so it’s really important to prevent future possible similar situations, in order to get the best version of teaching, we have to create resources what could be used in both situations: normal and covid. In this way we could use methods like “stop motion” or adapt the activities with gloves and distances.

10/12/2020:

1. Summary.

We saw the presentations about the different topics, in this case we saw and participated in “Writing in English” (with the alphabet), “Reading in English” (with a story about feelings and a "kahoot") and “Speaking with support” (with a song and a bingo of activities for your free time). After each one, we evaluated them and assigned numerical marks.

2. What I’ve learnt.

I’ve learnt the possible activities that we could create in order to teach different skills like writing or reading. We know the traditional types of exercises such as “listen and imitate” that is used in the Direct Method, but in this way, they propose activities with another point of view to teach these skills. We saw ways to motivate students through gamification.

We also worked how we could introduce more concepts at the same time as contents, like the feelings in reading or art in speaking.

3. Opinion.

From my point of view, we have to be sure of the order of teaching skills. In this way, reading could be taught before writing, but it’s better to introduce the vocabulary for writing from the first year through speaking in English all the time to practice the pronunciation and then start with the written format of this vocabulary. In conclusion, we have to offer effective learning, so we have to be focused on doing the task not in using the specific skill, for example speaking. In this way, to teach a song we could introduce it sentence by sentence or word by word, but through gamification, not only with concepts and rules.

 03/12/2020:

1. Summary.

We saw the presentations about the different topics, in this case we saw and participated in “Listen and Do”, “Listen and Make” and “Festivals: Christmas”. After each one, we evaluated them and assigned numerical marks related to specific points like the volume of the voiced or visual things.

2. What I’ve learnt.

I’ve learnt the possible activities that we could create in order to teach concepts through, for example, listening. In this way, I think that we could take notes about the presentations because they are very useful to inspire us in the creation of sessions. For instance, “Listen and Do” or “Listen and Make” add meaning to the knowledge through activities like “Role-play” or the “Fortune Teller”, and you could organize it in a progressive way to practice listening.

3. Opinion.

In my opinion, we have the responsibility of teaching all students every day, so it’s really complicated to keep the attention of them for a long time. In order to this attention, we could use a lot of resources to make the activities more attractive to the pupils. In other words, there are a lot of ways to create visual content, such as “Symbaloo”, so we could spend time in using them to teach the learners and to give continuous assessment through these types of activities. I think that our work as teachers is to create sessions related to the contents, but we can change the methodology of them.

 02/12/2020:

1. Summary.

We started with the explanation of how we could create a formulary. Then we had a debate about the importance of using web sites in education to share the class with families. We saw some videos of learning to know new ways to use ITC in our future class. Finally, we took notes about various resources to teach different topics like reading through telling stories in “Storybird” or listening through “SoundCloud”.

2. What I’ve learnt.

I’ve learnt the uses that we can give to the ICT resources in class. In this way, we saw that it could be unequal because there are families without technologies, they could have only one phone in their house, so it’s inaccessible to all members of the family. We’ve also seen that all students should have a school computer, because it might be the possible solution to this problem. As teachers, we have more work, but it’s better for students, because we could upload all resources and projects to our website to share with parents what are their kids doing in our classes.

Furthermore, let’s me say that it’s really important to have a variety of resources as a teacher. I know the importance of the motivation in learning, but now I have a lot of new resources to make the presentations more visuals and attractive to learners through webs like “Symbaloo”.

3. Opinion.

In my view, it’s very important create innovative sessions to motivate learners. I mean, we have to keep the attention on the same contents for a long time, so it’s really complicated to offer attractive classes. Now, we have a lot of ICT resources, so we should use them in school. In order to have normal classes in the present situation of covid, the ICT is very useful to follow the teaching’s plan, for example, we could use “Screescastify” to record our screen and give distance sessions with blackboard.
